Stephan Handwerk, a master coppersmith who studied with master coppersmith Sooriya in Hawaii. His journey has brought me him to the peninsula to further develop his artistic skills and create beauty with intention and meaning through bespoke
copper art.

The Ritual
One of the rituals he has adopted from Sooriya is the practice of creating in a state of well-being.
Before picking up a hammer and chisel, he surrounds himself with flowers and a harmonious environment. A purifying fire cleanses the air, and he enters a relaxed atmosphere. It's in this serene state that he begin his copper work.
His intention is to transfer this atmosphere to the copper itself, so that it becomes an energy source in its own right. Every strike of the hammer and chisel is a concentrated act of creation, and it's only in this relaxed state that he can truly feel and bring forth the artwork's essence.
